Hi, I’m DJ — founder of Koessler Strategies and an advisor to political candidates, advocacy organizations, cultural figures, and brands.

I started Koessler Strategies because the old playbook isn’t working and changemakers need an agile, battle-tested campaign partner to meet this moment.

I led social media, influencer engagement, and digital rapid response for Pete Buttigieg's 2020 presidential campaign, served on Hillary Clinton's digital and political teams, and organized young voters for Barack Obama in 2012. I cut my teeth at Blue State, then went on to build and lead high-performing teams at Climate Power and Stand Up America.

Along the way, I’ve helped raise hundreds of millions online, produced content that’s driven millions of views, won major policy fights, and written in the voices of globally recognized policymakers, entertainers, and athletes.

A native Michigander, I hold degrees from Grand Valley State University and Columbia University, where I now teach strategic communication.
